Since giving her heart to the Lord at age 11, Mary Robertson has had a heart for children’s ministry. But God’s plan is always bigger than we imagine. After developing a ministry to children called, Kids Catching Christ with over 100 children being reached, Mary is serving the Lord by reaching and teaching Youth students at Cedar Lane Baptist Church. She focuses on helping students to grow spiritually and develop leadership skills today with the goal of creating tomorrow’s leaders!
The Youth group is known by the acronym: J.A.M.S. The acronym is formed by the first letters of names of Jesus, Abednego, Meshach, and Shadrach. Their motto is: Friends Facing Fire Through Faith. The example of these four Biblical characters reminds students that they are never alone, despite the circumstances they may find themselves in at home or school.
Mary is a presence at the local schools and stays involved in the lives of elementary to high school students. As a certified life coach, Mary helps her students reach goals and communicate effectively.
Through Biblical teaching, structure, and fun, Mary focuses on loving like Jesus and taking every opportunity to invite youth age children to church. “Being saved doesn’t save us from the fire; it means we don’t have to endure it alone.” – Mrs. Mary.
